Yes, even folding your tentpoles needs 😁 knowledge

This is the 💡 trick and this is why ...

Problem is that the elastic will not slide around the bends when you fold the poles since the 180 degree bends are just to brutal to make that happen. The bending therefor causes the (remaining part of) the elastic to get more and more stretched with every next fold.

So start folding them in the Middle, not at an end. Even do this once more, so again at the remaining halves. That way the (halfs ! of the) elastic suffer from only half the tension when folded. And that will make for a much longer livetime.
